Auto Repair in Fort Campbell, KY
Fort Campbell is a United States Army installation located between the towns of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Clarksville, Tennessee, extending across the border of these two states. Fort Campbell is named for Union Army Brigadier General William Bowen Campbell, the last Whig Governor of Tennessee.
The site for Fort Campbell was chosen in the summer of 1941, and construction began in January 1942. The area was developed to accommodate one armored division and thousands of support troops, with a total size of more than 102,000 acres. Fort Campbell is now home to the 101st Airborne Division and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
The Fort Campbell parachute demonstration team was established in 1958. A generation later, in 1984, the 101st command group formed a full-time parachute team, known as the Screaming Eagles. Today, these highly specialized soldiers perform more than 60 parachute demonstrations each year, delighting a typical viewing audience of about 5,000 spectators.
